Bright ‘n Green Sponsors Destination Moon – Solar-Powered Music Festival May 31st NYC

22 May 2014, Posted by admin0 in Events

Bright ‘n Green is proud to sponsor this year’s Destination Moon – a Solar-Powered Music & Art Festival on May 31st at Hostelling International, New York City. On a quest to prove that a music and art festival can have a minimal carbon footprint – even in the heart of NYC – Destination Moon’s second annual solar-powered, waste-free festival is set against the backdrop of a spectacular 19th century Upper West Side landmark castle, and with a line-up of 6 indie bands performing on Manhattan’s largest privately-owned sunken patio and garden, the day is sure to amaze! Tickets for the full day of music (from 3-11pm) are only $20, with the lineup including Porches., Plume Giant, The Noelle Tannen Orchestra, Rivergazer, Big Tusk and more yet to be announced.

Here’s what the WSJ had to say about last year.

Artist collective OXHEART, a mainstay on Time Out NY’s “Critic Pick,” will curate a medley of incredible, site- specific, interactive artwork from local artists. Destination Moon will be completely powered with a portable solar array. The goal is to produce a music and arts festival with as small of a carbon footprint as possible. The DC Solar Solution’s Model SCT20 solar generator will power a fully-equipped sound stage for over 12 hours. Tasty snacks of all kinds will be available and sponsor Brooklyn Brewery will be slinging beers all day. Also Tekserve will be raffling a 32gb iPad for all pre-sale ticket buyers.
